| WHAT
IS PIYOLET????? |
PIYOLET is PI- Pilates, Yo-Yoga, and LET-
Ballet fused together in an amazing, fun, and invigorating
workout for the entire body. It is a low impact fitness
regimen for all ages, designed to diversify and keep the mind,
body and soul refreshed and fit. Each of
the disciplines within PIYOLET have numerous benefits for
the mind, body, and over-well being. The following is a
brief history of each:
Pilates, is a
physical fitness system developed in the early 20th century by
Joseph Pilates in Germany. Pilates called his
method Contrology, because he believed his method uses the
mind to control the muscles. The program focuses on the core
postural muscles which help keep the body balanced and which
are essential to providing support for the spine. In
particular, Pilates exercises teach awareness of breath and
alignment of the spine, and aim to strengthen the deep torso
muscles.
Yoga refers to traditional physical and
mental disciplines originating in India... The Sanskrit
word yoga has many meanings, and is derived from the Sanskrit
root yuj, meaning "to control", "to yoke" or "to unite".
Translations include "joining", "uniting", "union",
"conjunction", and "means". Outside India, the term yoga is
typically associated with Hatha Yoga and its asanas (postures)
as a form of exercise. It is a healing system of theory
and practice. It is a combination of breathing exercises,
physical postures, and meditation that has been practiced for
more than 5,000 years.
Ballet is a
formalized type of performative dance, which
began as a dance interpretaion of fencing in Italy in the
fifteenth century.. It was further developed
in sixteenth- and seventeenth-century French courts, and
which continued in England, Italy, and Russia as a
concert dance form. It focuses on pointe work, flowing,
and precise acrobatic movements. The etymology of the
word "ballet" is related to the art form's history. The word
ballet comes from the French and was borrowed into English
around the 17th century. The French word in turn has its
origins in Italian balletto, a diminutive of ballo (dance).
Ballet ultimately traces back to Latin ballare, meaning to
dance.

1. Spinach -
is known as a 'Powerhouse of Nutrients' and is one of the most
beneficial and healthy vegetables. It is filled with vitamins,
proteins, anti-oxidants and essential nutrients that promote
overall good health and well-being.
2. Blueberries
- are powerful antioxidants, prevent
cancer-causing cell damage of the body, reduce the changes
brought about by various age-related diseases, and help
preserve vision.
3. Sweet
Potatoes - are rich in dietary fiber, lower the risk of
certain cancers, and decrease the risk of heart disease,
diabetes and obesity.
4. Eggs - are a
good source of high-quality protein, providing 5.5 grams of
protein (11.1% of the daily value for protein) in one egg for
a caloric cost of only 68 calories.
5. Salmon - is low
in calories and saturated fat, high in protein, and a unique
type of health-promoting fat, the omega-3 essential fatty
acids. Salmon is also an excellent source of
selenium, protein, niacin and vitamin B12, phosphorous,
magnesium and vitamin B6.
6. Green Tea -
is rich in catechin polyphenols, particularly
epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). EGCG is a powerful
anti-oxidant which has been found to inhibit the growth of
cancer cells and kills cancer cells without harming healthy
tissue. It has also been effective in lowering LDL cholesterol
levels, and inhibiting the abnormal formation of blood clots
which lowers the risk of heart attacks and
stroke.
7. Whole Grain
Bread - reduces the risk of heart disease by decreasing
cholesterol levels, blood pressure, and blood coagulation.
Whole grains have also been found to reduce the risks of many
types of cancer. Studies have shown that people who consume
more whole grains consistently weigh less than those who
consumed less whole grain
products.
