Floating on a cloud of infinite
possibilities! |

|
| Dear Roslyn, |
I have had an amazing few
weeks. I am still a bit overwhelmed from my trip to
Washington DC and just this past Saturday, I had the
opportunity to hear Dr. Maya Angelou speak at the Hobby
Center. Her encouraging and inspiring words still
resonate in my spirit . . . . "when you get give and when you
learn teach". I hope that I am able to inspire you to
take treasure in yourself (mind, body & spirit) and pass
it forward to those who may need it. Don't just be
blessed, be a blessing!!!!

More Excuses! |

Conversations
about health, wellness, and exercise often times end with
responses or "inevitable" conclusions from persons which
include. . . .It's too complicated, I just don't have the
time, It's not convenient, It's not close to my home or job, I
don't have the energy, or I just can't do it.
In my opinion, I can't, I won't and I don't, just don't cut
it! My usual response to excuses are . . . . . What
can you do? Can you be decisive, think, breathe, walk, or
move? In other words, is there any illness,
sickness, handicap, or disability which prevents you from
being able to make decisions or choices which are healthy for
you and your body? When my grandfather was a 104 years
old, his body was deteriorating, and to his
disappointment he was forced to use a walker to get around,
but, he still did! He still walked, talked, exercised,
and maintained a healthy diet... Although he passed away 2
months shy of his 105th birthday, he was a shining example of
someone who chose to be healthy and not let excuses get in the
way of him living a long and prosperous
life. Making exercise and a healthy diet a
priority is mandatory and you have to decide to put your life
first. What is more important? Everyone has
commitments, jobs, kids or school which dictate a busy
and hectic schedule. Notwithstanding, if for some
reason your health fails, then all of these things would have
to take back a seat until you are able to get back on your
feet. Numerous studies have proved that making choices
each and every day which positively impact your health can
decrease the likelihood of injury and various illnesses.
Don't put health & exercise on a shelf so high it
can't be reached! Believe me, it's a lot easier than you
think and it's inside you to be free of the excuses and
become a healthier and happier
being. Be You . . .
. . only

| Inauguration 2009: A Memorable
Day! |
|
 At the
last minute, I decided to make the trip to Washington D.C. for
Inauguration and I am extremely happy that I did. A
short tidbit highlighting a few moments from my trip
follow:
At approximately 11:15am I arrived at the Mall and me and
my friends were able to work our way into the crowd behind one
of the jumbotrons airing the inauguration live. As
you will see in my pictures, the crowds were amazing and
massive. It was definitely cold outside, but, as
long as I was among all those people, I really
didn't feel it. There was so much energy and
warmth around me, the temperature outside was the last thing
on my mind! As the inauguration began, the crowd erupted
into cheer and applause. Once President
Barack Obama took his oath there were mixed emotions from
everyone around me. There was crying, yelling, and
laughing, all of which reflected the joy and enthusiasm
of each person who was witnessing a piece of history. I
stood in amazement and couldn't imagine being anywhere else on
this memorable day. I listened intensely to President
Obama's speech and did my best to keep the tears back as
I was so proud of our nation, our people (of all races) and
our growth. It was a surreal experience, but, one I will
never forget.

| Healthy Hair
Tips |

Creeks, Trichologist & Hair Sylist
Tips To
Achieve Healthy Hair
1. Nutrition - Maintain a
healthy diet by consuming foods which fuel your body with
healthy nutrients such as fresh fruits, vegetables, and lean
proteins.
2. Be Chemical Careful - The
more chemicals you use on your hair, the more likelihood of
damaging the hair and scalp. Take sufficient time in
between treatments and remember, more is not always
better! Whether it's color, relaxers, perms or any other
treatments, make sure your hair is in good condition to
handle the chemicals involved for your desired
look.
3. Education - Learn about the
products you use and those that your hair
dresser/stylist use on your hair. Make sure the
products are suitable for your hair type and are not causing
more damage than good.
4. Cleanliness is next to . . .
.. - Keep you hair clean. Washing the hair
regularly with products which do not coat the hair shaft
assist in growing a healthier head of
hair!
